HAVE TO SAY!
VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY FIRST AID COURSE
During January and February, we saw many of our volunteers complete an Emergency First Aid at work course at Greendale. This course provided basic life saving first aid skills and knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, including:
Adult resuscitation (CPR), Burns and scalds, Choking, Adult Communication and casualty care, Defibrillator prompts and how to respond, Defibrillator pad placement, Minor and severe bleeding, Role of the first aider, (including knowledge of health and safety regulations), Seizures Shock and Unresponsive adult’s.
The course provides a 3 year award and we were pleased to see that all X volunteers successfully passed the assessment! Well done to all our Volunteers
“It was a very informative, easy to understand and friendly First Aid course, the first one I had ever done. I did find it really useful, and hope to retain a good number of the things I learnt.”
“I thought that it was an excellent course - a good balance between theory & hands on practical, & I certainly feel much more confident with the knowledge gained.”
“I just want to place on record how much I enjoyed it. My last qualification in first-aid was over 15 years ago and it was one of those subjects I always dreaded having to go to class on. The reason being it was so boring and repetitive and not made much fun. Sophie's presentation skills and personality shone through and made it very enjoyable and more importantly the material we covered is been firmly embedded in my mind. I know from the rest of the group they also felt the same way as me.”

I just wanted to say how much my Granddaughter enjoyed the Mini Medics course yesterday. She returned home keen to show her parents all the new skills she had learned.
It was also so lovely for me to be able to sit in your reception area with a nice cup of tea, listening to a whole group of engaged and enthusiastic 7 to 11 year olds.
Well done to you and your colleague. I will certainly recommend the Mini Medics course. It was excellent value, educational and well organised.

Sophie, the course lead, made the day very interesting not just with the wide range of topics that we covered but through her use of a variety teaching methods (practical, written and quick fire quizzes, small group/paired activities, whole group discussions). It was really good to update my knowledge and have a chance to practice the practical methods (CPR, choking, bandages). It made me leave feeling more confident.
An excellent course, well taught. I would certainly recommend it to others.

A really good course. I learned new information as well as reinforcing what I knew from past NHS mandatory training. Thank you for the opportunity to update my first aid training.

The course was very well presented and explained . It was informative and we had some fun at the same time. So glad I attended. Thank you

I found the first aid course most useful. I believe we should all do first aid and was delighted that it was available at Greendale. Thank you.
A informative day full of useful information given by Sophie in a clear and concise manner.
