Level 3: Emergency First Aid at Work

If your workplace risk assessment identifies a need for an Emergency First Aider, this is the qualification you need. The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is the nationally recognised standard that satisfies the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

In a single day, your delegates will gain the practical skills and confidence to respond quickly, safely and effectively to a first aid emergency — from managing an unresponsive casualty to controlling serious bleeding and using a defibrillator.

Syllabus: 1 day course

A range of subjects are covered including:

  • Responsibilities and reporting

  • Assessment of the situation

  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty

  • Basic hygiene in First Aid

  • Burns

  • Epilepsy

  • Resuscitation

  • Defibrillator Training

  • Anatomy

  • Minor injuries

  • Bleeding control

  • Choking

  • Shock

Certification

Assessment is carried out continuously throughout the day by your instructor. On successful completion, delegates receive a three-year Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
